Alerts
Fiveops lets you know when something goes wrong with your server. The settings are in the panel under Configuration → Alerts.
Alerts
Section titled “Alerts”| Alert | When it goes out |
|---|---|
| Server offline | Your server doesn’t connect to Fiveops for the time you choose (between 5 minutes and 1 hour, 5 minutes by default). When the server is back, a “back online” notice goes out too. |
| Repeated restarts | Your server restarts 3 or more times within 30 minutes. |
| Resource couldn’t update | The automatic update can’t complete on your server (permission missing, returned to the previous version, or not applied within 48 hours); once per version. |
| Discord bot problems | One of your bots has an invalid token, its privileged intents are off, it lost its Administrator permission, Discord refuses its actions or it was removed from your Discord server. |
Each alert goes out once per problem and isn’t repeated while the problem lasts. If the problem clears and comes back, a new alert goes out. Servers that never connected, with an expired license or that are suspended get no alerts. No “server offline” alert goes out during an outage of Fiveops’ own connection service either.
Where they go
Section titled “Where they go”- Panel and in-game bell: every alert that’s on lands in the panel’s notification center and on the bell of the Fiveops menu in game.
- E-mail (optional): sent to the e-mail on the server owner’s Discord account. It can’t be sent if the Discord account has no verified e-mail.
- Discord DM (optional): the game bot messages the server owner directly. The game bot has to be set up and turned on, and the owner has to share a Discord server with the bot and accept DMs from its members. If the problem is with the game bot itself, the DM can’t go out, so only the e-mail is sent.
E-mails and DMs go only to the server owner. They use the server language (Configuration → General).
The Send sample button sends a sample alert to the e-mail and DM channels you turned on; you can try it without saving. It can be used once a minute.
Every e-mail and DM, and the reason if one couldn’t be sent, is written to the Fiveops log.
If alerts don’t arrive
Section titled “If alerts don’t arrive”- E-mail: check your spam folder. If the Alerts section in the panel says “No verified e-mail” instead of your address, verify your e-mail in Discord, then sign in to the panel again.
- Discord DM: in Discord, right-click the server’s name and allow direct messages in Privacy Settings. Check that the game bot is turned on on the Bots page of the panel.
